The JPS Foundation was founded to raise money to benefit the Cardiac ICU at Children’s Hospital in Boston, Ma. The funds are used in helping to educate staff, support families, and purchase new life saving equipment. The foundation was created in honor of Jakob Skorohod. He was born with a heart defect, which in turn caused him to need a heart transplant. His life was full and never evident of any medical complications. He brought much joy to the lives of the people he encountered. His life was shortened in June of 2007, when he suffered acute rejection, he was 5 1/2 years old. He will be forever missed. Our hopes are to continue to raise money for the hospital that gave us the gift of Jakob, and hopefully others the same chances he had.
